Did you know that Google Analytics doesn’t calculate time on site if your visitors hit the back button on your site without visiting any other pages?
This actually shocked me. Google needs an event to properly calculate time on a page and if someone doesn’t click in, or off your site from a link, they calculate that visit as a BIG FAT 0:00!
What this plugin does is add an event to the footer or header of your wordpress site which let’s Google Analytics properly track your bounce rate.
My bounce rates have dropped from 60% to 10% and time on site has almost doubled on some of my sites within 1 day.
All because the reporting is now accurate. So what does this mean?
It means not only should your bounce rate go down, your time on site go up. But your rankings should improve as well.
This is whitehat. When you see the code you’ll see it’s a simple event tracking code like you’d get from Google Analytics.

This is brilliant well done guys……
Wow! Thanks. This has been an issue for my sites, too. I really appreciate receiving this plugin as a gift!
Dan, I had observed the time-on-site and bounce rate issue in the past but was not sure how to fix the problem, other than get someone to click something.
Any suggestions on how to do the same on html sites? I have a few of those.
Thanks
John
John,
You’ll see the raw code inside the plugin settings.. Settings > Bounce Rate
and that code can just be added to the footer of any html page.
Thanks Dan. That I will do.
John
What if I’m already a member, where do I download the plugin? Thanks!
Just login, it’s on the download page.
Nice! & the price is right.
Thanks Dan; Appreciated…
Thanks, you are the best.
What an excellent plugin. As usual from Dan and company.
Out of curiosity, long term, how does this plugin fare with Google/Yahoo/Bing? You say it’s whitehat, though do the search engines see it as manipulating visits?
I don’t have relationships with Google, Yahoo or Bing to be able to predict their long term plans. All the plugin does is add a tracking event for Google Analytics. This method and code has been discussed online for quite awhile. Our plugin merely makes it easy to add into WordPress. If I thought for a millisecond that the code would cause an issue now or in the future, I wouldn’t have created the plugin.
Ive written an article on how bounce rate affects serp position, it was my understanding that google would track the actual rate differently, by monitoring when the user was back searching again. However, it’s still useful to have accurate reporting with the back button fix!
Dan, very generous of you to share such valuable plugin.
Thank you very much,
Nick
looks very cool to me THX ….
Thanks Dan, it’s great
I have purchased quite a few plugins most worthless so I am amazed that the one I get for free was the best one I have ever installed. I was a bit skeptical after I first installed it. The first few days did not seem to make any differance. I figured another worthless plug in but at least it was free. I have had a 60 to 65 bounce rate all along. After about a week it started averageing about 50 and now low 40s. I had 1 day as low as 16 but I try to look at it as an average over a week. I am starting on my 3rd week and have never been happier with a plug-in. Great job Thanks so much for something that actually does what it claims.
